Field Trip Opportunities
The Red Stick festival offers exciting field trip opportunities for school groups and discounted learning opportunities for educators.
Red Stick highlights the links between art and technology, showcasing the latest developments in digital art. The festival features several guest lectures that make interesting field trip opportunities for students. The talks will allow students to put the pieces together among science, art, technology, business and more, seeing how these areas all come together. The festival will offer school groups FREE passes to attend Red Stick lectures. Lecture passes normally cost $50 each.
Guest speakers and festival organizers are willing to tailor the guest lectures so they directly relate to students’ art and science lessons and occur at times convenient for school groups. Please contact the festival office at 225-389-7182 or amoody@cct.lsu.edu to discuss developing a field trip package for students that allows them to see some of the 2010 Red Stick lectures.
Discounted Passes
In addition to offering school group lectures during the festival, Red Stick offers reduced-price Gold Passes and reduced-price workshop tickets for students and educators. Students can purchase a Gold Pass, normally $50, for as low as $20 each, and can purchase workshop tickets for as low as $10 each.

Animation Collaboration for a Cause
Animation Collaboration for a Cause is an annual part of the Red Stick International Animation Festival in which artists work closely with school-age children from around the state, helping them create animation about their experiences with various social issues. Clifford Cohen of AnimAction, a company that focuses on youth expression through animation, leads this activity each year. Contact the festival office at rsiaf@cct.lsu.edu or 225-389-7182 to learn how you and your students can participate in the 2010 Animation Collaboration.
