Lectures

Each year, Red Stick features lectures with industry professionals who discuss the latest trends in the industry. To attend festival lectures, participants must purchase a Gold Pass [link to Passes section.] Gold Passes are $50, but special rates are available for students, educators and ASIFA members.

Workshops

Red Stick offers students and aspiring animators opportunities to learn from the professionals each year during the festival’s workshop series. Representatives from the animation, video game, screenwriting and special effects areas attend the festival each year to work with the next-generation of digital artists, preparing them for future careers in this vibrant and exciting field.

To attend festival workshops, participants must purchase a Gold Pass. Gold Passes are $50, but special rates are available for students, educators and ASIFA members. After buying a Gold Pass, participants are eligible to purchase tickets to the different festival workshops for $20 each. Special workshop rates are available for the groups listed above, also.

Speakers

Every year, Red Stick invites renowned artists and animators from leading studios, including DreamWorks, Pixar, Rhythm & Hues, Sony Pictures Imageworks and Disney to attend the festival and inspire the next generation of animators and artists.

Past Red Stick guests include Curtis Jobling, designer of the worldwide children’s hit, "Bob the Builder;" Barbara Slade, a former executive with Walt Disney development and screenwriter for hit animation, including “Rugrats” and "Angelina Ballerina;" Robin Linn, animation producer and director for hits such as "Open Season," "Surf’s Up" and "Beowulf;" and Stuart Sumida, a comparative anatomist and paleontologist who specializes in animating animal movement and has served as a consultant on more than 35 animated films.

Passes

There are two passes available for the Red Stick International Animation Festival.
