The Red Stick FutureFest debuted in 2005 under the name Red Stick Animation Festival. The Festival was inspired by the Animex festival in Northeast England, an animation festival that links science and technology with creativity and art. In 2010, the festival rebranded under the name Red Stick Fest and expanded its focus from animation to include digital media, gaming, experimental music, and technology. As of 2019, the festival changed its name to Red Stick FutureFest to better communicate the future of technology and innovation. The event focuses on Digital Media, animation, maker-fairs, experimental music concerts, digital art exhibits, game jams, a kid’s lab, and other technology-driven events. We want you to Get Digital at our 2019 festival.
